Women in fire and emergency leadership roles: How can we improve the gender balance?

The aims of the research are the following: 

• Conduct a desktop gender analysis to map the current fire management sector in terms of gender representation in fire and emergency leadership roles.
• Conduct a ‘survey monkey’ with employees of DELWP and other NEO agencies (Parks Victoria, Melbourne Water and VicForests) to assess the reasons behind, and attitudes to, gender disparity in fire and emergency leadership roles, and to identify solutions.
• Consult directly in person with employees to flesh out reasons behind, and attitudes to, gender disparity in these roles, and to identify solutions
