Practice
Here you can find publications, tools, and case studies to support gender-responsive decision making and practice. These resources are organised through the WRD Framework, which comprises three WRD Pillars, 15 topics, and three cross-cutting issues, which together provide the foundations for building women’s resilience to disasters.

Increase the knowledge and evidence base on the gender dimensions of disasters and threats.

Build the enabling environment for sustained and institutionalised change for women and girls.

Realise transformative change by leveraging the voice and agency of women and girls.
Cross-cutting Issues
Global frameworks establish the architecture and commitment for building women’s resilience to disasters.
The voice, agency, meaningful participation and leadership of women needs to be leveraged for gender-responsive resilience.
Awareness, knowledge, and capacity gaps need to be addressed for gender-responsive resilience.

WRD Toolbox
The WRD toolbox provides a wide range of tools for fostering gender-responsive practice for the three WRD Pillars for building women's resilience to disasters (Risk, Systems, Action), the five topics for each pillar, and the three cross-cutting issues (global frameworks, women's leadership, capabilities). See the full Women’s Resilience to Disasters Framework.
The purpose of the WRD toolbox is to centralise all key tools for building women’s resilience. Too often, practitioners are reinventing the wheel rather than building on the good practices, experiences, and learning from other regions. This toolbox is “live” and will regularly be updated as new tools are developed and shared.
Case Studies
The WRD Knowledge Hub serves as a platform to foster south-south knowledge exchange on gender-responsive resilience building and facilitate the sharing of good practices and lessons.
The case studies highlight how stakeholders are working together to understand the gender dimensions of risk, enable gender-responsive systems, and realise women's resilience.
