Post disaster needs assessments (PDNA): lessons from a decade of experience.

As of mid-2017, 55 PDNAs had been conducted since the methodology was elaborated by the European Union, UNDP, and the World Bank. This review focuses on ten areas of inquiry and draws on a sample of 14 PDNAs, including verifying the application of principles of gender and disaster risk reduction, and concepts of “build back better” in post-disaster assessments and recovery planning.
