Integrating gender equality and climate resilience into private sector policies and initiatives – a transport sector case study discussion
September 2021
This is a background paper which formed part of the 66th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) Expert Meeting on Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes, prepared by Joanna Edghill, Managing Director of MEGAPOWER.
This paper showcases experiences in Barbados, specifically in the transport and renewable energy sectors, and explores how the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), points 5 (gender equality) and 13 (climate action) can come together for private sector policy decisions.
