The art of implementation: gender strategies transforming national and regional climate change decision making

This publication describes the process and strategies for integrating women in national climate activities in their countries. It contains the national action plans on gender and climate change that have been developed in different countries since 2010 and the roadmaps on gender and REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) developed since 2011.

By sharing the lessons learned through the different programmes, this document seeks to provide some insights into single efforts and inspire other countries to follow suit, developing strategies that ensure women's active role in adaptation to climate change, increasing the impact to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. At present, local and national action is needed to make the difference.
