There is increasing recognition in both domains (adaptation and disaster risk reduction) of the need for gender-responsive action in response to climatic and disaster risk. This brief explores gender-differentiated vulnerability to risks and highlights how gender equality and women’s empowerment are key to the success of all post-2015 multilateral agendas.
