Two years after the adoption of the Sendai Framework for Risk Reduction 2015- 2030, the goal set by the Andean Community (regional organizational composed of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru) is the implementation of a new road map for disaster risk management in which prevention is recognized as a priority stan- dard to reduce and mitigate the effects of natural and man-made events that may lead to disaster situations.
Under this commitment, the Andean Disaster Prevention and Response Commit- tee (CAPRADE) elaborated the initial proposal that has included among its lines of action, the Sustainable Development Goals and its respective Agenda to 2030, in synergywiththenationalagendasofAdaptationtoClimateChange.Asaresult the Andean Community Party States have adopted the Andean Disaster Risk Manage- ment Strategy (EAGRD) through Decision 819 of May 9, 2017. The outcome Decision is a supranational law that is aligned with the Sendai Framework 2015-2030.
