For Glacier lake outburst floods (GLOFs) early warning systems (EWS) to be effective, gender needs to be prioritized. In Bhutan, the social structure leaves women dependent on men for receiving disaster information. Gender-inclusive EWS ensures that women receive early warnings and that they participate in decision-making processes.
