A 35 million U.S. dollar Asian Development Bank loan will finance Cambodia’s new disaster risk management project, reports Xinhua news agency on China.com. The six-year project aims to strengthen the country’s resilience to floods and droughts by increasing flood protection, enhancing critical infrastructure and flood forecasting systems and helping locals to adapt to climate change impacts through crop diversification. In addition, a gender action plan will involve women in the community-based disaster risk management.
