Rome will host the 7th PPRD South National Correspondents meeting on 20-21 September. During this final event, which gathers 13 Programme Partner Countries representatives, the participants will discuss about the results achieved by PPRD South and prepare the actions planned for the last three months of the Programme’s activities.

The meeting, which will take place at the Headquarters of the Italian Civil Protection Department, will be opened by Franco Gabrielli, Head of the Italian Civil Protection, who will summarize the key points to be addressed during the Programme high-level conference and final Steering Committee meeting scheduled on 8 November in Brussels.

During the meeting in Rome Pierluigi Soddu, PPRD South Executive Director, will illustrate the final Programme workshops on “Urban Resilience” and “Multi-hazard Risk Assessment” to take place in Lisbon on 15-19 October. Ronan de Saint Germain, PPRD South European co-Director, will lead the discussion on the results achieved by the Programme long training on how to prepare a civil protection simulation exercise which will be finalized by the training workshop in Morocco scheduled on 1-4 October.

Finally, the Rome meeting will provide the opportunity to discuss advances triggered by the Programme on various cross cutting themes, such as women involvement in Civil Protection, building shared risk assessment capacities, exchange of early warning information, awareness raising and education to prevention, new methods for exchanging knowledge and expertise.
