CARE brief on the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction

In this brief, CARE highlights key messages in relation to the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction, discussed in the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan, from March 14th to 18th, 2015. It calls for disaster risk reduction to empower people in particular women and girls - and their communities, to address the underlying drivers of risks and inequalities such as the inequitable distribution of rights, resources and power that constrains women and girls and their communities in their ability to deal with disaster and to strengthen their resilience.
