Gender Pledge Wall and Inclusion Hub

The Pledge Wall provides a space for GP25 participants to demonstrate their commitment to advancing gender equality and social inclusion in disaster risk reduction, in alignment with the Gender Action Plan (GAP) for the Sendai Framework. Pledges can be individual or organizational commitments.

The Inclusion Hub offers access to expert guidance, tools, resources, and support to implement your pledge, and integrate gender-responsive and socially inclusive approaches into DRR policy and practice.

The Pledge Wall will be open throughout the official programme days (4-6 June) with experts on hand to provide advice. Specific sessions on the Sendai Framework key priorities will be held in the Inclusion Hub during the morning and afternoon tea breaks on the official programme days.

Session objectives:

Promote Commitment to and Implementation of the Sendai GAP

Encourage participants to publicly affirm their commitment to advancing gender-responsive and socially inclusive disaster risk reduction, in alignment with the Gender Action Plan for the Sendai Framework.

Support Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building

Provide participants with access to resources, tools, and expert advice to strengthen the integration of gender equality and social inclusion in their work, and showcase good examples of Sendai GAP implementation.

Foster Accountability and Encourage Networking

Create visibility for individual and institutional pledges to support ongoing collaboration and accountability toward inclusive resilience outcomes. Facilitate connections between governments, stakeholders, practitioners, and experts to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and promote gender-transformative approaches.

Amplify the Role of Gender Equality in Building Resilience

Highlight the essential contribution of gender equality and social inclusion in achieving more effective, equitable, and sustainable disaster risk reduction outcomes.
