Women are addressing gender inequalities of disasters including violence against women
“Six to eleven percent of women in ASEAN countries report having been victims of violence against women by a partner in the past 12 months.”
Through regional coordinated efforts and national policies, ASEAN Member States have made remarkable progress towards sustainable development in the past two decades. Nevertheless, addressing inequality remains a key challenge across the region, and quality gender data are critical to inform decision-making in this regard.
The ASEAN Gender Outlook provides a snapshot of progress and challenges in the ASEAN region regarding each of the SDGs, and highlights priority areas for gender action.
