The high-level forum was organised within the framework of the project 'Strengthening resilience of women and girls affected by conflicts, violent extremism and climate change in the Lake Chad Region.'  It was implemented by UN Women in collaboration with the Lake Chad Basin Commission and partners at the national and global levels, with support from the Government of Japan.

The forum provided a platform for bringing together the Lake Chad Basin humanitarian and disaster risk reduction communities including women-focused/women’s rights organisations, national and international stakeholders, to build coherent understanding of the status of gender integration within the regional stabilisation strategy.
