Dialogue

Addressing gender-based violence in the context of the climate-biodiversity emergency

This webinar will bring together GBV and environment key stakeholders to discuss how to leverage and strengthen enabling policy frameworks for scaled-up rights-based action.

Gender-blind climate and environment-focused policies and implementation frameworks can inadvertently create conditions for heightened gender risks, including GBV, and miss creating powerful opportunities for realising rights and resilience.

In the lead-up to the 66th meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) and the resumed sessions under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), join IUCN and USAID together with diverse partners in this high-level moderated discussion amongst leading GBV and environment policy-makers, donors, and practitioners. Together, speakers will explore the existing, emerging, and urgently needed policy frameworks and enabling conditions that are fundamental to facilitate collaborative rights-based action to address GBV and combat climate change and biodiversity loss.
