The overall purpose of this research is to better understand how public authorities and humanitarian actors (in Indonesia, Laos, and the Philippines) can prevent and better respond to GBV during and after disasters. It fills knowledge gaps by collecting data and analysing the impacts of sexual and gender-based violence during and after disasters, and makes practical humanitarian policy recommendations to support South East Asia (ASEAN) Member States to meet commitments under the ‘Asia Regional Plan for Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-30.’
