Integrating poverty and gender into health programmes: a sourcebook for health professionals

This sourcebook intends to support health professional educational institutions integrating poverty and gender concerns into existing curricula.

The aim of this module is to strengthen the capacity of teachers, administrators, and those developing training materials to introduce changes into curricula that will ensure health professional curricula or courses include the concepts of gender, poverty and health. This module is designed to assist leaders to develop the necessary skills and tools to manage curriculum development and change. Accordingly, the module sets out a systematic framework that incorporates the knowledge, strategies and techniques needed to develop and implement a curricular change process that will bring about the integration of poverty, gender and health concepts.
