Find out how Member States in the South East Asia region, have committed to strengthening their disaster responsive social protection systems through a range of regional policy commitments such as the ASEAN Declaration on Strengthening Social Protection adopted in 2013. The purpose of these strategic guidelines is twofold:
i) to provide a common understanding of when and why building disaster risk considerations into social protection programmes and systems is important; and
ii) to provide strategic guidance for policymakers on when and how to advance disaster-responsive social protection
