This working document presents key considerations to ensure gender equality and women empowerment principles inform the transition process and reconstruction planning after the 2015 Nepal earthquake. The guidance is informed by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) commitments to mainstream gender in humanitarian action, Government of Nepal relevant policy and guidelines such as Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, the National Disaster Response Framework and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. The document also builds on recommendations on gender equality and social inclusion made in the Nepal Post Disaster Needs Assessment (2015).
