Advisory Brief for Disaster Risk Management Planners: Gender Responsive Costing for Earthquakes and Urban Flooding Preparedness Response Plan

Addressing the role of socio-economic status in amplifying vulnerability to disasters, UN Women (Nepal Country Office) along with UNDP and UNICEF has prepared a “Scenario-based, gender-responsive costing framework for DRM”.

This brief is developed to guide the development of injects for gender-responsive services/interventions for earthquakes and urban flood preparedness, describing disaster events, their impacts and response through a GESI perspective. It has been developed with funding from ECHO-HIP, under the Strengthening Urban Preparedness, Earthquake Preparedness and Response in Western Regions of Nepal (SUPER Project) being implemented by UNDP, UN Women, and UNICEF.
